Exploring Africa
Africa, a continent to explore
Continent: Africa
Countries: 54
Inhabitants: approx. 1,320 million
Size: 30 million km²
Did you know that Africa is misrepresented on the maps we usually see? The continent is much larger and more elongated than it is represented to scale on Google Maps.
The continent is home to an infinite number of amazing facts worth discovering. Shall we go?
Don't put off until tomorrow the trip you can make today.
Where is the best place to eat?
1. Egypt
So far, it is the only African cuisine I have tasted on the spot: Koshari, baba ganoush, falafel or the dessert kanafeh are dishes you must try.
2. Ethiopia
Some rankings place Ethiopian cuisine as one of the best in Africa. It is not uncommon to find Ethiopian restaurants in Europe.
3. Morocco
Moroccan cuisine is also known for its delicious dishes such as couscous, Moroccan tajines and delicious desserts.
Top 3 favourite destinations
Of all the places I have visited in Africa to date, I would highlight the following three:
El Gouna
Despite maintaining a rather artificial appearance, it is the perfect place to enjoy a relaxing holiday.
Egypt can be stressful, but ending up relaxing by the Red Sea is priceless.
Cairo
A chaotic city with a lot to offer. The capital allows you to be close to the Pyramids of Giza while exploring a great city.
Top things to do: sample the cuisine, see mummies and sail down the Nile in a falucca.
Luxor
A place surrounded by beauty on the banks of the Nile River. Be sure to visit the temples of Karnak and Luxor.
Very close to the Valley of the Kings, a corner of the planet that you can also see by hot-air balloon.
